With southern Italian charm set on the high cliffs over looking the Bay of Naples lies the charming city of Sorrento.  You can almost hear the song "Torna a Surriento" while sipping your wine over looking the bay:  "....but please do not go away, do not give me this pain.  Come back to Surriento, let me live!"

Given its location Sorrento is a great stop for day trips to Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Ischia and the incomparable Amalfi Coast.
